Virtual Livebox

Now that the heating season is upon us and the box is being used to control the CH, the problem of testing scripts has arisen because I can't afford to have the box falling over all the time.

In the wiki Brett says "Depending on how tech savvy you are, you could configure up a Linux Virtual machine". I have a running version of Virtualbox but have no idea how to convert the HAH firmware into a virtual machine.

Anyone know how difficult this is? If this is not too difficult could someone give some pointers?
