Box unresponsive after flashing HAH
Hi
I'm just getting started with my Livebox. I've succeeded in downgrading the firmware using a TFTP server, and followed all the other steps apparently successfully. I have then tried flashing the HAH image, and at this point everything seems to go wrong. It apparently flashes correctly (and I've also tried doing the same with a Win XP box) but after rebooting the box it appears to do nothing, and in particular it does not seem to request / be allocated an IP address via DHCP.
The first light (with the warning triangle) flashes constantly with one of the others occasionally coming on.
I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to try next - I've tried repeating the whole process through with the same result. It's not bricked, because I can go back to programming mode and reflash the stock image without a problem.
I'd be really grateful for any suggestions! Might it be worth trying to flash an older version, and if so where could I get one?
James
Hi James,
Good to hear that you are (finally) up & running.
I've flashed a fair few Liveboxen and haven't seen this.
Q. If you run /etc/init.d/update to goto the latest version, does it work ... or are you once again locked out?
This has happened in the past - back then it was due to a missing ethernet driver, but I think this time it might be due to the size of the .DWB file - the HAH is approaching some sort of strange limit. As nobody has flash from the latest 303 firmware I'd say you are the first to have noticed this problem. As you have discovered using an old version and upgrading seems to workaround this issue.

Hi,
I am having exactly the same problem as gw0udm.
I tried flashing to an older HAH firmware but the problem persists.
One thing I noticed is that half way through the flashing I notice the "triangle" light start flashing and no other lights come on until the flashing is completed, and the router remains in that state.
I have a Wanadoo router, if that makes any difference.
Check this thread http://www.homeautomationhub.com/content/hah-sagem-3202-livebox
Some of the older Wanadoo units were of this type.

Hi Derek,
I've check the thread but my unit is not a Sagem. its an Inventel DV4210-WU, with the 1 and 2 buttons.
All the hacks worked fine until I tried to load the HAH firmware
I managed to get hold of an Orange router, but I am still having the same issues.
I must be doing something wrong ?
Help!
So, I've installed firmware onto a fair few Liveboxen. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kenned/6217897609/
I start by flashing a pretty old version, then just run the online upgrade process to get to the latest. I'll email you a .zipfile containing the .dwb that I use.
Cheers,
Derek.
If these files are required then they should be hosted on the wiki not emailed around personally !?
What is missing from this page? -> http://www.dbzoo.com/livebox/firmware
Just to add my 2c worth. Just completed putting HAH onto a DV4219-WU.
I did use the latest version of the firmware from the Google site and apart from me taking a long time to work out which IP address it had been allocated (I have a lot of kit on my LAN), it worked.
The Wiki is fine but it's missing out a few simple steps to reassure the reader that things are going well. is the Wiki editable by mere mortals?
I ended up using the Windows installer rather than the TFTP method as I couldn't face hacking my network around to use 10.0.0.X addresses.
Also I couldn't get anything to install using Windows 7 and had to use a VMWare image of Windows XP to make it all work. I made the application run as Administrator but it still failed. My laptop isn't particularly locked down by work so I was a little surprised.
But after all said and done, the next one would take me around 30 mins as opposed to about 4 hours as I coinstantly checked everything, so a good job done.
The next stage is put a dedicated IP address in and eagerly await the RF stuff from Derek.
[Edited as I didn't realise it can have a static IP address].
Thanks for the notes. i'll update the wiki.
When you are trying to find the IP address that has been allocated to your HAH, xFx Viewer can be really handy. Just look at the 'LCD' node & read the text. In fact, XFx is really handy for doing all sorts of development with the HAH. If you don't want to install xFx, Brett has provided xap-snoop on the HAH itself.
Cheers,
Derek
Hi
Solved the problem by flashing to an older version. Still not sure why it arose, I'm sure I did everything right.
Is there perhaps an issue with flashing the newest version to new boxes?
