Does anyone have experience of Byron HE206 remote control light pendants. They come with dire warnings about not using energy saving light bulbs. Some people seem to suggest that as long as you only use them as on/off devices, and don't use the dimming function, then it is OK. Anyone have any real world knowledge of this?

I tried one with an energy saving lamp....don't do it, even in on off mode the output must be slightly chopped and the ES lamp just flickers rather than starting up. I have fitted some but opted for some halogen lamps instead of ES.

Thanks for that, I'll try one out somewhere that doesn't matter too much and see how it goes with a non-ES bulb.

LightwaveRf

The low power/dimmable thing is quite hard to do. I have a LightwaveRf bulb in my hall lamp. It was an expensive part, but it is very relaible and works well with RF control via the HAH.

The nicest thing about it is that there is just 'the bulb' - no other fittings needed.

Thanks

Thanks for these pointers. I don't actually want to use the dimming facility I just want to be able to control 2 or 3 lights remotely when not at home. The lightwaverf bulbs look like they might be the "plug and play" solution but I've acquired a couple of he206's so I'll have a play around with those first to see how I get on.
