Have I Bricked my LiveBox
Hi All
And it was all going so well......
I'd just gone throught the instructions and got to the bit where I re-named the LiveBox to initiate Telnet - that worked fine, so I ported over the -patched file - that all seems to have gone well and I'm gettting the single red flashing LED that I'd expect - however, I think I must've changed the IP address of the LiveBox somewhen 'cos I can't see it at any of the IP addresses I'd expect.
Any ideas - I've run an auto pinger on my standard subnets and its not showing up - have I got any chance of finding it - or do I have to reset back to a Factory condition...and if so how do I do that?
hope you can help....ta!
EJ
The HAH virtual LCD is always useful to have running when you flash your livebox for the very first time this helps you find it after it acquires a new IP address via DHCP.
As well as the MAC change the problem with two or move liveboxs on the same subnet is that each will report using the same source identifier and with overlapping UID spaces.... this is BAD.
But there is light and I knew somebody would try to do this.
On the WEB interface there is an ADMIN -> INSTANCE tab this is used for configuring your two liveboxes and giving each a unique name.
Once you have done this they will need a reboot both and you may need to adjust things in your scripts and pachube and almost every other setting.
I strongly suggest you leave one alone, that is the one already setup and working, and simply give an ID to the other call it "DEV" or "HACK" or "1" or whatever takes your fancy.
