Pulse display?

I seem to recall "someone" developed a script to read the pulses from a gas meter using a ccdev board?
I have recently (today) got a small din rail meter to measure cumulative KWh and i am planning on putting it on my immersion pv system so i can see how much eleccy i am putting into immersion.
Now the intresting bit i have a spare cc dev board and am planning on integrating it to the pulse output. It does 2000 pulses per KWh.
anyone help?

You'd just have to use the gas tick as your counter.
I'm not sure that it can cope with 2000 + pluses in an hour because it doesn't read continuously.
