RF - Not working...

Hi,

I've recently put together a HAH setup using a complete board from Derek (thanks for shipping this out). I'm nearly all working with the exception of the RF and the external 1-Wire.

Firstly, the header and cable shipped is a 4 way socket, not three as per the notes in the Wiki - Does anyone know if the 4 way header next to the 3 way header is also for 1-Wire? And if so, what is the pinout?

Secondly, I am having problems with the RF setup. I've got the 15v link from the Livebox to the HAH, the RF module is installed but I can't get it to control a Lidl socket. I'm trying the following codes -

rf1.off=0101020D03E803E8020D10011B5818DCB090
rf1.on=0101020D03E803E8020D10011B5818D2C940

I've also tried

rf1.on= 01020320028A05DC028A05DC0514032004B00C029C401515B15556160
rf1.off=01020320028A05DC028A05DC0514032004B00C029C401515B155555540

If anyone could suggest any troubleshooting so I can test the RF?

Many thanks,

Andy

The lidl units won't work out of the box

You need to TRAIN the units using the right RF codes I'm pretty sure that they don't work out of the box.  Derek knows more about this.

Check the schematic for wiring details: http://www.dbzoo.com/_media/livebox/pcb_rev1.jpg

Don't confuse 1-wire with I2C

Not many folks use the I2C. I2C needs 4 wires. 1-wire needs 3. The four way connector on the PCB is for I2C.

If you want to hookup a DS18B20, you need to use the three way connector on the PCB. On the attach cable, just relocate one conductor - not too hard to do.

Derek.

Thanks Derek - i'll move the

Thanks Derek - i'll move the connector down and give it a go.

Regarding the RF - is there any way to test that its actually working? I understand the Lidl units (one I bought from the shop here) need to be trained by holding down the Teach-In button when sending the 'ON' code from the HAH - just not sure if the HAH is actually transmitting anthing...?

get a meter check the small rf pcb for 12V-15V

without a scope or spectrum analyzer or 433.925MHz receiver thats about all you can do

Gotta be 12V at the module

Do check for 12V at the RF module. If you see more than this, something is wrong.

Also, when you say 'Lidl socket', do you mean the one from the HAH Shop http://www.homeautomationhub.com/content/rf-mains-socket or some other type that Lidl have sold/are selling?
