Top 10 uses of HAH and future/wish list
6 May, 2012 - 19:46
I wanted to start a topic so that everyone tell us what you use HAH for what is/are the main/most common uses of HAH?
I got mine to monitor Solar output and my home electricity consumption with a view to maximising my use of free solar energy by controlling my immersion initially and more going forward.
It would be great to collate a top 10 / 20 list of uses that will inspire new users/members like me to give us something to strive for!
Please respond with you top 10 go for it…….

Its funny but I don't have
Its funny but I don't have one at the moment - its on a boat. :)
I did however port a large number of the programs over to my joggler which is running them very happily. Its used daily to monitor the jeenodes around the house to check on temperatures esp. my daughters room and feed them to up pachube for remote monitoring too.

I don't use mine for anything, it's just a great project and I've learnt a lot from it. Having said that I do have a current cost hooked up, a couple of HAHNodes, which I've just setup to monitor movement in the house. A friend got burgled recently and now my daughter can't sleep, so a quick script and demo showed her that if someone comes into the house at night the lights will turn on to wake us up :)
I've had a Joggle for 12 months but not done anything with it, that's got hooked up this week.
I've learn't a bit of Lua, C, Javascript, SVN, Linux and diplomacy, thanks Brett.
I've learn't about micro electronics, osilliscope, RF, 1-Wire, i2c (Why aren't more people using this??), thanks Derek.
I'm looking forward to getting my RasPi later this month and seeing what the future holds for the project.
I'd love PV, but can't see how it's affordable.
I love solving problems.
Perhaps not you typical top 10, but it's what I'm using mine for.
