Does anyone have a USB hub on their HAH?

Now that I have a HAHNode, I cant use my current cost!

I have tried two unpowered hubs so far, both dont work. Perhaps they need to be powered?

Please post details of any hubs you know that work,

Or is it a config problem? When I look at dmesg, it looks like it only sees one device on the hub.

Many thanks

Powered hub

A while back, I used a powered hub to hookup my CC and three 'USB to serial' cables. It worked fine. Not at base just now, so I can't go look at the brand of hub.

I did try a very inexpensive ('pound shop') unpowered hub; this didn't work.

dmesg should show the hub being recognised.

Derek.

unpowered ok for me

I'm using a current cost off an unpowered small 4 port belkin hub.

works well for me.

Not currently connected anything else though (is just really the start of the test), so cc is still running off USB0

Unpowered

I too use a cheap (poundland) 4 port unpowered hub. It has a CC attached most of the time and I occasionally plug a USB memory stick in which seems to be recognised OK.

Thanks

I hace another cheapo on the way from Ebay, but if any of you could post pics of the unpowered ones that work, it would really help me to find one on ebay.

Powered is a bit of a problem as I am running out of 13 amp sockets in the hall cupboard;-)

Go easy on the juice

I like the powered hub because the 5V regulator on the Livebox is already working pretty hard (it gets rather warm). OK if you are just using a HAHnode as these draw very little power, but if you use anything that might suck more power it might push that Livebox supply over the edge.

Hmm - Juice budget

I take your point!

I already have a homevision box, serial to ethernet adaptor for HV, HAH, House Alarm, Telephone, BB router and Current cost plugged in. its getting a bit crowded.

I might have to think about some bigger supply and feed multiple units off it. I wonder what the voltage requirements of all those bits are. I will be leaving the alarm alone though;-)

These are the hub's I'm using

These are the hub's I'm using with my livebox, as the connector is right angled it's pretty nice for the joggler also.

I paid £2.99 when I bought ten mid last year though.
