Firmware update - beginners guide?
Evening all. I wonder if you can help. I have 2 units I bought from one of you guys on here some time back. I use them only to upload PV data to pachube / cosm / xively. They have been working fine until the 17th April when they stopped.
I bought the units already flashed and they are still running 306. Having a poke around I think the reason they have stopped uploading is that the api.pachube.com URL have finally been switched off?
I thought the easiest way to 'fix' this would be to simply update to the latest firmware. I can log in to the boxes with putty and find my way around to look at and modify basic stuff, but Ive had a look at the pages on here but I'm out of my depth if I'm honest.
As the boxes are already 'cracked' and running which of the steps do I really need to do to get from (306) to the latest firmware version (317?)?
All help gratefuly received!
This may be a red herring for your problem, but I can confirm that my connectivity to Xively went down around 07:35am on the 18th April and on a number of other occasions over that weekend. Been ok since 15:50 on the 19th April. Xively WEB site was refering you to twitter facebook ect ect for up dates.
Kema...
Yeah outage here too!

knoxbox - One of the big changes I made was that the hostname is now used as part of the xAP address naming. This makes it easier to have multiple HAH system on your network and its allowed the movement of the code to a portable distribution for RaspPI etc..
I guess you figured out all you needed to do was rename your box to "livebox" and reboot to fix it.

You will definately want to get yourself up to the latest firmware release. Try this guide:
http://www.dbzoo.com/livebox/upgrades_backups
You'll also want to check out http://homeautomationhub.com/content/release-309
As there are some manual steps for renaming your pachube configuration section to xively.
Release 309 is where pachube got renamed.
