Smartwares Radiator Valve 433MHz

Over Christmas I purchased a couple of Smartwares 433MHz radiator valves on eBay for £30 plus shipping from the Netherlands (manufacturer refurbished). https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SMARTWARES-Radiator-Thermostaat-Duo-Pack-SHS-53002-EU/264506495298?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Recent timing observation

in

I have just changed over to a couple of 4 relay Jeenodes from a number of RF Home Easy HE830S sockets.

While testing the HomeEasy Units (I have had quite a high failure rate most common fault they switch on but not off) I discovered that if I set CRON to turn on 5 of HE830S’s at exactly the same time only 2 or 3 would switch on, even though xfx registered all the events.

To get around the problem I now set cron as follows (I am sure there are other ways):-

10 16 * * * sleep 01; aliasmsg "rf 15 on"# Turn on Lounge socket xmas tree

Twitter

I don't know if anyone is still looking, but on the off chance, Twitter seems to have stopped working for me. Anyone else still using it?

Emoncms.org upload has stopped working.

in

Emoncms.org upload has stopped working.

I would be very grateful if someone one could confirm if they can continually upload to Emoncms, I have recently discovered that my upload will work only for a while after a plugboard restart and then stop after an half an hour or so. This was working perfectly before the middle of May. As far as I am aware of I have not made any changes to my setup.

Is there any way that I can monitor what is being uploaded from the HAH?

Is the mail applet working

in

Hi

I would be very grateful if someone could confirm if the mail applet is working, I used it a few years ago and it worked without any problems.

I have recently made some changes to my HAH setup and want to use the email applet again but now get an error when triggered, see below.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Xively Personal, end of the road.

in

Just received an email from Xively explaining that Logmein is retiring Xively Personal, see extract from their email below.

"After careful consideration, LogMeIn has made the decision to retire Xively Personal from its current line of products effective January 15, 2018 at 12:00PM ET . Please note that LogMeIn will continue to offer our Xively Enterprise edition – there is no change to that edition and we will continue to support that platform as part of our IoT business."

Should have just left it alone!

After many months of just running along in the background I recently decided to write a little lua script. No doubt due to my poor programming it was leaking memory and eventually caused the inevitable crash :-(

Before I had realised what the problem was I had tried to edit the cron and the lack of memory caused my cron file to be overwritten with a blank file. I've recovered the cron file but I am having trouble re-connecting the cron file with it's link in the /var/spool/cron/crontabs directory.

CRON stops working everything else is OK.

I have just started to encounter a problem with my HAH, where by after a number of hours cron stops working but ever thing else is fine.

Is there a log file I can monitor/access to establish what is going wrong and at what time.

I am not sure if it could be a hardware problem.

Any help in tracking this problem down would be much aprechiated.

Many thanks

Flash GUI Hangs / Freezes

in

Hi

I am having a problem when I use the Flash GUI interface in that occasionally the interface freezes / locks up and the only way I can get it restarted, is to reboot/power down the HAH. The normal Automation (Tab) interface still works OK after Flash GUI has frozen, so I can still turn on and off all my kit.

I have always had this problem but the regularity of it happening is getting worse.

When I check the normal log files I see nothing wrong.

Has anyone got any spare Current Cost dev boards that they no longer need?

Thanks
